I purchased this excellent hat on-line just three days before my 11 day Sierra Backpacking hike. The hat worked out great and providing excellent shade and protection. I did give it a good ScotchGard treatment before the hike, so no sweat or water stains or other similar problems. The hat retained its shape wonderfully and provided excellent ventilation on even the warmest days travelling the 60 miles from South Lake to North Lake (over 3 Passes - Bishop, Muir and Piute - all nearly at 12,000 ft elevation). I highly recommend this Dorfman product.
This is a great hat for the Texas summer heat. This is the 2nd one I have ordered for my husband. The other one is in fine shape, just stained.
